Keep in mind tankless heaters should be inspected and serviced periodically to ensure proper performance through the units life. With this in mind attic and crawl space installations are generally acceptable but make sure they are easy to access for service. In the unlikely event of an emergency, having easy and unimpeded access to the unit will allow you to shut of gas and water valves at the unit quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\"><strong>Noritz recommends locating the appliance in an area where leakage from the unit or connections will not result in damage to the area adjacent to the appliance or to the lower floors of the structure. When such locations cannot be avoided, it is recommended that a suitable drain pan, adequately drained, be installed under the appliance.
