Can I install a tankless heater if I live in a cold climate or freezing area?

The freeze prevention will work as long as there is electrical power. Do not install unit outdoors in climates where temperature falls below – 4 Degrees F in the absence of wind. Do not install indoors where-in outside temperature falls below – 30 degrees F. (Please be advised, some models do not come with freeze prevention. )

Cold climate recommendations:

1. When installing indoors, make the venting as long as possible inside the building (within the limitations of the installation manual). 
2. If possible do not SV convert the unit and install it as a DV unit (both intake and exhaust venting to the outside).
