The chart below will show you the maximum flow rate a unit can provide based on the temperature rise. What is the temperature rise? It’s the difference between your set temperature and the cold water temperature. You always want to use the winter time cold water temperature when determining temperature rise as that is the coldest it will be. For example:
120 Set Temp
55 Winter Cold Water Temp
120 – 55 = 65 (the temperature rise)
